With todays working people spending untold hours at their jobs, kids at school, Mom's shuttling kids to and from school and often to sports afterwards, why then in this era of "I want it now" is television holding on to it's anachronistic ways?

Tell me why should we have to "wait" for the evening or late night news? Why do programs like the Lateshow with Conan or any other latenight program expect viewers to stay up late?

Certainly there are options like DVR's, but I think the time has come to allow the viewer more control. Why can't they take all the programs for the entire week (we know most are recorded in advance)and put them in a format where they could be viewed any time of day, or week. Why is that so difficult?

I realize the sponsors want the bang for their buck and often rely on "teasing" an episode a week or two ahead. But they still would get a large number of eyeballs viewing their products, but either they are part of the problem or part of the solution.

People like myself are tired, tired of mediocre content, tired of being at the mercy of Network or Cable programming. Most of the new programs might seem entertaining to those with with an IQ approaching room temperature. Just look here .

With the exception of possibly five channels, they can take all the rest and flush them.

I am not 15 - 25, Gay, minority, female, or one half of a married couple. So lets see that eliminates MTV, TLC, Bravo, any of the network "Mom" centered programming (Daytime television), QVC or other buy my crap programming, certain news programming ie; CNN,MSNBC (too liberal), and numerous other cable networks that fit the same categories.
What does that leave? well for my taste that leaves: Discovery, History channel, Some Spike programming, Tru TV, ESPN, a few Comedy Central programs (very few), A&E, and the Travel channel.

The paradigm shift needs to start now. As for me I jettisoned, my cable almost two years ago, and honestly I don't miss it. Plus I find the content on the internet far more entertaining and intellectually stimulating. Maybe if others would do the same we could effect change.

What I don't get is why the MSM is so quick to pooh pooh the idea that Obama might not be a US citizen at birth. Why is that such a hairbrained concept to consider?

Instead, like usual they resort to name calling first the 9-1-1 truth people are called "the Truthers" now the people that question Obama's birth certificate are referred to as what else? "Birthers."

Jon Stewart and his ilk have no monopoly on the truth. they can obfuscate, misdirect, insult, and attempt to marginalize all they want but the truth will eventually surface.

Here's something to consider, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did some research
yesterday and he believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one
simple question:

What passport did he use when he was shuttling between
New York , Jakarta , and Karachi ?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981,
without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York , Jakarta , and
Karachi , what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions,
they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama's citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?
A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?

A: There are only three possibilities.
1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,
2) He traveled with a British passport, or
3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?
A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.

Conclusion:
When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof
that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims.
And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to
prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or
American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter,the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008.
Is This Whole Controversy Such A Big Deal Or Much Ado About Nothing?

It was for John McCain.

You may still remember that the liberal media made a huge deal out of the fact that McCain was born in the Canal Zone, while his father, a Naval officer, was stationed there. The liberal media relentlessly questioned whether or not McCain met the constitutional test?

Congress even got into the act and weighed in on the matter. It was that important. When it came to McCain, adherence to Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution was no conspiracy theory.

But John McCain, unlike Obama, released all relevant records.

While the Canal Zone was not American soil, McCain's parents were both American citizens who had resided in the United States for the required number of years after having reached the age of majority.McCain was good to go... as was Senator Barry Goldwater many years ago.

And the key phrase above – when it comes to parents bestowing citizenship rights on a child at birth – is "resided in the United States the required number of years after having reached the age of majority."

Obama's mother was only 19-years old when Obama was born... she was much too young to bestow her citizenship on him for the purpose of satisfying Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution.

That's why McCain could be born abroad and why Obama must have been born on U.S. soil.

So why did the liberal media savage McCain and why is the liberal media giving Obama a pass?

Strangely, it may have been the liberal media's willingness to savage McCain over the issue that eventually brought this whole controversy to light.

When Obama's grandmother claimed Obama was born in Kenya, the McCain controversy was still fresh in the minds of people who wondered –and are still wondering –why the same standard was not being applied to Obama.

But, as the American people are coming to know, you are simply not allowed to criticize or scrutinize "the messiah" or hold "the chosen one" up to any standard.
Just raising what was a legitimate question in regards to John McCain makes you a conspiracy theorist or nut when it comes to Obama.

And now, as Pat Boone is finding out, it makes you a racist

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

If you Don't care that Your President is not a natural born Citizen and in Violation of the Constitution, then Delete this and go into your cocoon.

If you do care then Forward this!

Cronkite was known as "the most trusted man in America" -- legendary for delivering the news of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963 and the lunar landing in 1969.

Three weeks ago Cronkite's family revealed he had been suffering for years with cerebrovascular disease and was not expected to recuperate.

Cronkite was the anchor of the CBS network news from 1962 to 1981. He was known for signing off by saying, "And that's the way it is."

Cronkite died at home in New York at 7:42 PM -- he was 92.

Just as a thought maybe you'd do well to take a minute to read the many reviews from the Yahoo movie user reviews.

I usually consider this when the verdict is still out on a particular film.

In this case, Bruno sounds like a film that would not appeal to those moviegoers whose usual fare is anything mainstream or family oriented.
Even someone like myself, I'm not adverse to films that push the envelope or test the audience's comfort level.
But then there's comedy and then there's Bruno.

I haven't made a decision whether or not I will see it. But i'm leaning towards not.

Recently I lost my wallet which contained everything. Credit cards,Debit card,SS card (I know I shouldn't of kept it there, but it was just replaced) My Wa state DL, My Nursing License (Yes,I really am a Nurse)

Turns out some Jackass managed to break off a little sumthin' before my debit card was cancelled. Luckily the bank credited my account.

Now I find a webpage that lists my name with a PO box and my former employers Phone number Go Here

That's great except I don't live in Olympia and I don't have a PO box!

So what's a guy to do? All I can say is "keep it up jackass, I'm on to you!"

Obama Bans the Commonfolk from Normandy

A lot of the difference, the change if you will, between Obama and Bush has much to do with the word humility.

George Bush is and was a humble man. Obama thinks the world counts on him and him alone to lead us. Bush went to church and prayed often. Obama puts out press releases about his supposed piety. The left sold a great bill of goods to the American people claiming that Bush, et al. were arrogant while insisting that Obama was a “man of the people.”

The 65th Anniversary of D-Day is fast approaching. Barack Obama will attend the events on June 6th as George Bush did in 2004 for the sixtieth memorial service. Here is the rub, as of now Obama’s State Department has asked (read demanded) the French government not allow tour guide services to operate that day. It is a big day for Normandy tourism. Yet, the king will not allow those not connected with government to enjoy the day. Obama is very important you know. This is an unprecedented request. I hope the French come to their senses and deny it.

Compare that with 2004. Security was tight as President Bush and other world leaders were in attendance, but the event was still open to all. A friend relayed the story of waiting in line to use a port-a-potty (a French port-a-potty no doubt, yuck, believe me.) She looks to her left and who he is in the next line waiting patiently? President Bush. Sure he had Secret Service nearby, but he waited like everyone else.

Contrast that with Team Obama not even allowing regular people near Colleville-Sur-Mer that day. A shame indeed. Especially as the last of our WW II vets are expiring.

As the Bamsters unemployment rate pushes 10% (double the Bush average) and his 3.5 trillion dollar budget breaks the USA (the press of course focuses on his 17 billion in “savings.” Way to go 4th Estate.), Obama has more to worry about then denying people the right to attend a memorial service on June 6th.

It’s as if Obama has to let it be known that he is more important than honoring the events and the 9,387 mostly young Americans who died invading Normandy 65 years ago. Will Obama apologize for American actions during WW II at the event?

I think the following quote from Obama himself sums it all up: “a light will shine down from somewhere…. You will experience an epiphany. And you will say to yourself, ‘I have to vote for Barack.’” Watch for yourself:

The guy can’t even bring himself to say “shine down from heaven.” Do you really expect him to line up to use the can with the commoners at a Normandy celebration? Americans may start to miss the guy with the humility.

Universal Healthcare, unchecked unions, government run banks, government run autos, cap and trade, turning the 20 million undocumented Democrats into voters: That isn’t America and it surely isn’t what those young boys died at Normandy for.

We elected a fairy tale. We can start the road back to reality in 2010 with the mid-term elections.
